  Infertility Tx

The Texas fertility clinic laboratories at the Center for Women’s Medicine in Houston, TX, offer the most comprehensive and advanced cutting-edge fertility services available for both male and female infertility. Our fertility clinic combines the latest technologies with proven “Wellness” and “Holistic” approaches to treatment. Our main office is located at 10901 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079 and we recently opened another office in The Woodlands Texas at 17198 St. Luke’s Way, Suite # 400, The Woodland, Texas, 77384.

Infertility is present in up to 11% of couples of reproductive age and is defined as failure to conceive after one year of unprotected intercourse. In women aged 35 or older, the time is shortened to six months. Infertility was once considered a “female problem”; however, we now know that 47-50% of couples have a male infertility component .  Therefore, the male semen analysis is one of the most important fertility tests.

Dr. Allon is one of the few Board Certified, Reproductive Endocrinologists, Infertility Specialists in the United States and has established a proven record of treatment successes at our Houston, TX fertility clinic. The causes of infertility are often complex and a fertility specialist, like Dr. Allon, should always be consulted. Treatment by a specialist usually results in higher pregnancy rates, fewer side effects, and lower treatment cost.

Dr. Allon feels that infertility treatment is “more than” ordering and interpreting fertility tests or delivering fertility treatments.  For many couples, building a family is one of their most basic desires and infertility often creates emotional stress and depression coupled with feelings of inadequacy, which are sometimes further complicated by cost concerns.

The reasons Dr. Allon often recommends holistic therapies, such as acupuncture, massage, or vitamin therapy are 1) scientific studies have demonstrated that many acupuncture procedures are effective. For example, we know that acupuncture can increase blood flow to the uterus and alter a women’s reproductive hormone levels. 2) Science has not advanced to the point where all causes of, and treatments for, infertility are known, resulting in the diagnostic category of “unexplained infertility”. Dr. Allon is “open” to therapies that might enhance fertility even if we cannot precisely explain how they work. 3) The hypothalamus is the “master fertility gland”, controlling the output of the pituitary gland. The hypothalamus signals the pituitary to increase or decrease its production of FSH , which stimulates, and supports, follicular development.

Stress has a direct effect on the hypothalamus and can cause irregular or no ovulation, and other hormonal abnormalities. Relaxation therapy may help the hypothalamus perform its normal functions. Mind/body therapies are combined with cutting edge technologies to yield the highest possible success rates.

Dr. Allon and his entire Texas fertility clinic staff focus on individualized, compassionate, care devoted to helping couples achieve their dreams of having children.  He believes that patients deserve answers to their questions and he allows time for this during every office visit.

Dr. Allon also specializes in treating patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), also called Stein-Leventhal syndrome. PCOS is a complicated condition resulting in many abnormal symptoms in addition to its negative effects on fertility. Dr. Allon has researched PCOS extensively and has published numerous scientific articles. His PCOS experience greatly surpasses that of other specialists throughout the United States.

PCOS may cause obesity, irregular or no ovulation, infertility, excess male hormones resulting in acne, excess body hair, balding, and other symptoms. Women with PCOS have ovaries covered with many cysts.

PCOS puts women at increased risk for endometrial cancer, insulin resistance, diabetes and diabetic complications, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. The Center for Women’s’ Medicine ensures that PCOS patients, with the risk of such long-term health complications, are properly screened and treated with the latest and most effective medicines and surgeries.

The Allon Health Center focuses on care of the “total woman” including state of the art infertility diagnostic and treatment services.  We offer the full spectrum of highly complex assisted reproductive technologies including IVF, donor egg, preimplantation genetic diagnosis for sex selection and screening abnormal chromosomes, ICSI, assisted hatching and others.
